Device for Spinning Squirrels
I found this while browsing a mail order catalog we received anthrax-free. The catalog is called Preferred Living and its motto is "Catalog for the Affluent Home" which is hilarious enough given that it's filled with crap like this.

This squirrel-proof bird feeder can be found on p. 63 of the October through January 2002 release. When I first saw it I naturally paid no attention since bird feeders are not allowed by our condo association and Los Angeles has relatively few squirrels anyway.

When I did eventually take a closer look I noticed the series of pictures across the bottom which illustrate that effect this particular feeder has on a squirrel. I've enlarged them below and you should definitely look at them in order. I really wouldn't mind looking out my window and seeing the comic struggle between squirrel and technology.

I will take my leave by posing two and a half questions:
1) Can this be adapted to secure your house?
2) How long does the average squirrel hang on, and what's the record?
